Thanks For Listening Ltd is an independent company formed in late 2011 by Dave Wickins and Buster Birch to run the summer school. After many years of organising the course in partnership with the various educational establishments which have hosted it, we are now able to have complete autonomy over every aspect of running of the course and shall be hiring the venue as an external client.
This has many advantages which we believe will greatly enhance your experience of the course. It allows us to fully utilize our expertise in running this course as well as defining the relationship between us and the venue as one of client/supplier, where we receive the highest level of support from the host venue. The Royal Welsh College of Music have a very experienced team dealing with regular corporate hire and external functions and are extremely efficient and professional.
Dave Wickins studied with the legendary Philly Joe Jones in the 1960s since when he has formed a long association with many great players including Kirk Lightsey, Bobby Wellins, Pete Churchill and Liam Noble. He began directing what is now our Summer School in the 1980s.
